My First Manila Escapade
Monday, October 05, 2015
Every firsts is truly memorable. And this was my first trip to Manila, first traveled by plane, first national camp, and my first time to have a 1 week vacation leave from work. May 2, 2010 when I and other church mates went to Manila to attend the National Youth Camp. Before camp days, we had the chance to roamed around the cities. Busy streets, busy people, and skyscraper buildings were the least I can describe Manila.. We've visited the famous Victory Church in Taguig and wow! There were lots of crowd there waiting for the Sunday service to start. All sits were occupied. It is a local church in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Next stop was Market Market! A one stop shopping haven still in BGC, offering a wide array of value shopping, dining and entertainment options for everyone. We didn't miss the lights of the Bonifacio High Streets during nights. And it is truly one of the busiest and famous streets in Taguig.

On our second day in Manila, we went to the known Manila Cathedral in Intramuros. It is a Roman Catholic basilica and once a parish church owned and governed by the Archdiocese of Mexico in 1571. Besides of the cathedral was another historic spot, the Palacio De Gobernador. The first official residence of the Spanish Governor General or Palacio Real.

One of the most important historical sites in Manila, Fort Santiago was built by the Spanish conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi as a defensive fortress designed to protect the newly formed city of Manila. It is a key feature of the famous Walled City of Manila, which is referred to as Intramuros. It is also ideal for picnics and scenic walks.

Last Mall we visited was the SM Aura Premier. According to SM Prime the name defines “luxury and elegance that emanates from within. One of the highlights of the mall is the SkyPark, a multi-level green roof. It is very nice on the top. Seeing the skyscraper neighbor buildings, the green trees in the garden and the cold wind, I can't ask for more. Rest and relaxation is the best in SkyPark!

And if you are in Manila, don't miss to get lost in the largest mall of the country, the SM Mall of Asia. It is a shopping mall in Bay City, Pasay, Philippines, near the SM Central Business Park, the Manila Bay, and the southern end of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue. Mall of Asia consists of four buildings interconnected by walkways; the main mall, the entertainment mall, and the north and south car park buildings. One day isn't enough to roam this kind of mall really!

And with all the gala, FX transportation was our friend all the way.. Hurrayy!!! We have tried all the means though (LRT, jeepney, bus, taxi) and well, FX is the most comfortable among them all ;) I can't get over the longggggg line in jeep terminal :3 (one reason why I won't trade Davao)
All in all, the journey went well. Thanks to our Almighty Father for everything ^_^ Hope to post another firsts escapade here soon..
