This hidden lagoon was became famous after it was featured in Kapamilya Mo, Jessica Soho. It is nested in Cortes, Surigao del Sur. It is a three hours and a half drive from Surigao City.

February 12,2016 - 12:30 AM, we departed Davao City with the team. My friend Cathy who's the owner of Weekend Tour managed to group two vans for that day. It is a long trip and the weather isn't good since low pressure was foretasted by NASA early that week. When we arrived in Surigao the weather was worsen. It was a foggy morning, rain dropped hard and the winds struck the place.

We arrived 7:00 am in the site. The vans were lined up on the entrance. It is a rainy morning so we decided to just walk to the entrance. It was more or less a hundred meter to the mouth of the lagoon. Entrance is so affordable. I am not sure if it is P10-20 because Cathy paid for us. (The entrance fee is inclusive on the amount we paid for that trip.)  Entering the entrance you'll see and hear the raging waves. It is the most perfect day to watch the waves "laswit". We walked another hundred step to reach the lagoon. Wow! I've said it repeatedly when I saw the lagoon. It is so unusual. The lagoon has a 20-feet rock barrier against the ocean waves. No wonder why it is called Laswitan Lagoon. Every time the waves struck the barrier it formed a tidal splash that will enter the lagoon lately. The catch basin inside the lagoon is safe for swimming. You just need to hold on the rope tightly. And for the crowd that stands on the flat but edgy rock, the threat are for them. And we didn't escape that threat. We are not ready when the two waves splashed and washed us. I was scared that time. I seen nothing since my eyes was close. That moment made me reflect that it is "Sunday". Sunday is for God's time and not for self's getaway. But I thanked much the Lord because we haven't had a serious wounds. My knees were trembling when we get up. My sunglass and one slipper was washed away together with my companion's slipper (Rochie, Liza and Dimple). I am not aware that we are not the only injured that moment. Our other member of the group suffered the achy wounds too. Almost 10 of our group had the wounds from the fierce laswit.

We didn't stayed in the front hence we decided to change clothes already. The other side of the lagoons is the wavy sea. We've seen the splashes of the waves on the rocks.

This adventures is totally wonderful. Nature's beauty is worth a wound. Lol! Seriously, a must visit spot in Surigao. Plan your getaway. Just be careful of the laswits. :)

Below are some pictures. Check it out.
